It is designed to provide people with mobility restrictions a comfortable and dignified bathroom experience when visiting the centre.

The Changing Places at the Dundrum Town Centre was officially opened at 7th December by Don Nugent and “key management” of Dundrum Town Centre. Sync Living provided strategic advice on the key equipment and the space required in line with Changing Places guidelines.

The Changing Places at Dundrum Town Centre makes it more accessible and provides a facility that no other shopping in Ireland offers.

Dundrum Town Centre has lots of customers with more complex care needs. Having listened to the feedback from these individuals and their carers, the management decided to install the changing places facility.

About the Changing Places at the Dundrum Town Centre and Sync Living

Andrew Smyth, Sync Living Changing Places Specialist, is satisfied with the results of the Changing Places at the Dundrum Town Centre.

Andrew commented on the Changing Places at the Dundrum Town Centre that:

Dundrum Town Centre is Ireland’s largest shopping centre with over 169 tenants, almost 140,000 m² square metres of floor space, and over 3,400 car parking spaces. It is located just south of the town centre of Dundrum. The centre management are to be commended on investing in this excellent Changing Places facility in their pursuit to be accessible and inclusive.

It was a pleasure to guide from early stage planning through to completion in line with Changing Places / BS8300:2018 guidelines. The facility provides high quality products and finishes in keeping with the ethos of the centre. Now a greater percentage of the 18million visitors to the centre per annum who live with a disability can enjoy the Dundrum Town Centre experience without having concerns in relation to toileting / changing amenities. It my hope that other shopping centres and public venues throughout Ireland will follow Dundrum Town Centres’ lead.
