Benefits of Stairlifts Northern Ireland

Stairlifts – What are the benefits of a Stairlift?

Are you experiencing difficulties getting up and down the stairs of your house? If so, a stairlift may be the solution.

With a stairlift, you can stay in your home, and continue to enjoy your independence. In this article, you will learn more about stairlifts and how they can benefit you.

What is a stairlift?

Most people with limited mobility find stairs to be challenging. A stairlift is a motorised chair, that can safely transfer people up and down any type of staircase. They are reliable, secure, and can enable people to continue living in their homes.

Stairlifts are designed to suit your individual home and lifestyle. Without a stairlift, people with limited mobility may need to convert a downstairs room into a bedroom or even move to a single story house. It can be a superior solution from both the cost and convenience perspective.

What are the benefits of a Stairlift?

  • Safety – Stairs can be a dangerous place for people with limited mobility. Stairlifts provide a much safer means to transfer these people.
  • Independence – It will give confidence to the user to do some tasks on their own.
  • Cost – Stairlifts are cost effective. They are a cheaper alternative, compared to moving to another house or building a new bedroom, bathroom, etc. Also, they can be fitted in a matter of days.

Brooks Straight Stairlift

There are two main types of stairlifts- straight and curved.

If your stairs consist of one complete flight of stairs leading to a top landing or hallway, with no middle landing, you may require a Straight Stairlift. The simplest solution for a straight staircase, the Brooks Straight Stairlift uses a single rail attached to your staircase.

The stairlift chair is designed to fold up giving other people safe access to the staircase when the lift is not in use. The smooth start and stop mechanism allow you to glide effortlessly up and down the stairs.

Brooks Curved Stairlift

If your staircase has turns, intermediate landings or limited space at the top or bottom, you may require a Curved Stairlift.

Using a unique modular system, accurate measurements enable Brooks to tailor-make a stairlift rail which closely follows the contour of your staircase. Brooks stairlifts are designed to suit your individual home and lifestyle and include space-saving features such as 180 parking bends at the top of the staircase.

The modular rail enables the curved stairlift to follow to the contour of your staircase closely, even around bends. A curved staircase can accommodate a wide variety of designs and measurements, from spiral to fanned or half or quarter landings. Due to the individual nature of curved staircases, our rails are custom made for each home. Sync Living Curved Stairlifts can reach more than one floor and can travel around tight corners.
